@TotoyOZresident oo nga iba talaga ang mundo pag ang hawak mo passport eh pang 1st country, but hopefully when i reach the 4th year (parang ang tagal ata feeling ko mahohomesick ata ako) ill can get a dual citizenship. no plans of giving up PHil passport if i can keep it too.

matanong ko lang bro, maluwag ba magtrabaho dyan as in nakakabakasyon every year and hindi sila stern when it comes to employee d tulad d2 all eyes d ka lang close kay ganito can be used against you. the reason why i chose AU is hoping for laid-back living and good wage. i just hope all what i aspiring on living abroad for s price of being separated with my family is true enough for me to enjoy staying.

Believe me mas relax dito mag trabaho. Staka dito walang masyadong pakialaman basta you do your work.

@TotoyOZresident haha salamat naman bro sa sinabi mo kahit papano it gives comfort to my trouble heart, so many doubts what life would be on the other side of the world but have to do this because my lated father wanted me to establish life abroad. he knew that I can secure my future if I work hard abroad away from my comfort zone so I need to fulfill it but worried Im going to leave my mother in PH.

Yup still single, and dont have any plans with so many going on around. I think i rather be this way for now much freedom and my own stroke no need to consider anyone and happy to go anywhere I want. hehe, i just dont want string attachment hehe to each is own. about expenses, magtitipid na lang ako, cook my own food and more time to learn new things and of course, to bike around Sydney are what I think ways to avoid homesick. Para paguwi every year, live like a king in PH and US hehe. just my wishful thinking. To God be the Glory. :)

bakit Australia? low crime rate and siya ang nagbukas ng work opportunity para sa akin. :)

Then punta ka dun every week its up to you. Attend ka ng Yoga dami dun :D makikilala mo pa sila at makaka usap. :D

    @TotoyOZresident

brod Zumba na lang ako. LOL.

Fitness No.1 sa Smithfield NSW sinubukan ko mag Zumba (kasama sa package pg nag enrol ka sa Gym), nasa likuran ako na pwesto...one day lang ako, di ako makapagconcentrate e. LOL.
That's another way to know the person. Explore yourself and be friendly. It will improve your confidence and local English speaking. Be a good boy Mayt... :D

thank you sa friendly advice brod
especially about inviting her to drink a coffee . :D

Hi Good Evening po! Bago lang po ako dito sa forum. And it's my first post here, yipee! Dito po kami ngayon sa Calgary but we are thinking of moving to Australia as well. Reasons are: malapit sa pinas, walang winter at affordable ang pamasahe pauwi. But can you help us decide if which is better? Tsaka may tatanggap pa po ba na work sa amin let say we're on our 30-35 na by that time? Kasi plan namin na hintayin ang citiZenship but then am not sure if it's worth the wait? Di naman po namin alam if hanggang kelan mag accept ang australia ngskilled immigrants at if pasok pa si hubby dun. Any forecast po about the immigration 3-5 years from now?
    Thanks po sa mga magrereply.

@TTam ate if you have been in CA for long why not wait for citizenship, I think AU would still be open for intended immigrants or more years as I don't see any retrogression on processing and only few job class were eliminated since skill worker has began. Just curious why you wanted to move to AU when I rave about Canada especially Calgary for its scenery. I'm even torn between CA or AU but my visa in AU came first so I guess AU is my destination for now and see what Gods plan for me when I get AU citizenship. I know Canada winter is harsh but I don't know how brutally can it be . I always like to see the banff mountains and hope to visit Darren Espanto hometown if you never ask I'm a fan.

AU is expensive and housing cost is higher compared to US and CA some of my relatives from Sydney has moved to US because of this reasons but all in all they like AU for nice weather and laid back living. It's also the same reason why I applied for AU when CA hadn't yet opened door for IT professional on FSW program and only recently that they bring back that category in the list. Too late I got my visa, but thinking also to get PR visa for Canada until eligible just in case things doesn't work out for me in AU. Somehow, I felt it won't be good getting 2 PRs at the same time coz sooner or later I will have to abandon one from another and will put me in a bad record for that country. So I guess one at a time until I got the citizenship. Hope you can share your experiences in Canada so we can have a good comparison of what it is on both beautiful countries. Of course PH is still home.

I have been to Ontario ( i assume parehas ang pamasahe ) and I can confirm na mas mura ang pamasahe at bilihin jan compared dito :) kung yun lang naman ang basehan mo ng pag lipat ng AU heheehhe :)

the property here is like double comparing to Ontario ... if we are to sell our house here we can buy maybe 3 properties there :) ehhehehe

Hi thank you so much for your insights! Nakadepress kasi ang winter. Supposedly ay summer dito but then biglang nag snow na naman. Iba pala talaga pag naexperience mo na. 2 years na kami dito and planning to move in AU if given a chance. We both have a decent job here. Nakabili ng bahay (este loan pala, hehe!) more cheaper to buy than rent kasi that's why we go for it. But during winter time, nandito lang kami sa loob ng bahay, hehe!

In AU you have budget Airlines so you can fly back home if you wanted to - at malapit sa atin. Dito kasi ay napakamahal. I am not sure if you're public transpo is good? Dito kasi necessity talaga na my sasakyan. How much is the bungalow or starter house dyan pala?

Although, maraming positive side naman dito like - healthcare system and education. Canadians are very friendly too!

Yup, lots of beautiful sceneries here most especially - Lake Louise. :)

Have you think about moving to Vancouver or Ontario? Although most of the people na kakilala ko preferred Alberta because of more jobs, oil deposits and less tax ata. Yes, i've heard Canadians are very friendly people.

Thank you for your reply po!
Can you please give me an idea if for a family of 3 - how much do we need to earn para makacsurvive (given that you're also paying for housing mortgage, insurance, etc). Sorry po if naipost na ito sa ibang thread, Im willing to backread just an idea lang po sana, if workable ba kahit mahal ang bilihin dyan or ang housing but both of us are working?

Mahal po ng pamasahe from here to pinas. Atleast po dyan my budget airline.. Hehe!

Anong industry/skillset ba kayo? I dont think may drastic changes sa immigration ng Australia for the next coming years. Ang mahal na nga ng visa fees nila, like for example sa Accountant di naman halos napupuno ang cap. Basta ok lang papers nyo, and get Canadian passport first so pwede kau bumalik kapag hindi naging ok sa Australia.

So sya talaga ang pwede mag apply.

Yung Canada is already moving to EOI system na din following AUstralian immigration system as model.

I regret getting an agent kasi sayang sa pera. Ako pa yung nagdidikta sa kanya, and if I had followed their advice, baka nga wala pa akong visa ngayon. :)

Although I understand your position. My friend is in Vancouver and she is thinking of moving to Au. But then her reasons are:
    • No close family ties in CA.
    • Her 2 best friends, (me and another person) are both moving to AU.
    • Her brother is processing his papers for AU.
    • Au is closer to pinas.
So the things she considered were, as you said, if she should wait for her passport before applying to AU. My answers are:
    • If you plan to stay in AU, why wait for passport? The AU immigration will ask you why you got your passport and then immediately applied for PR to AU.
    • Your age and pension. Do you really want to spend another couple of years working there when you know you won't say? How about the pension funds? Won't it be more beneficial if you move sooner?
So yan, things to consider :)

If I were in your shoe I would wait until I get Canadian passport para hindi naman po sayang ang pinaghirapan nyu dyan and you don't really need to cut the ties with CA in case things won't work in AU.

I think matagal pa open ang AU and considering the population and land area in AU sobra dami nila lands kesa sa tao so they really need immigrants to fill in their country. And also ask Gods help baka kc dyan nya kayo itInakda, some of us here in AU have initial plans to CA pero fate brought us here in AU. Just for peace of mind, I suggest to get Canadian Passport if you're halfway of completing the require residency. I think mas madali ata ang processing sa AU at straight forward. I myself just apply on my own with just research and reading in skillselect website also with the help of some here in forum. Kaya basa basa lang Po kayo d2 marami kayo nakukuha no need to get agent kaya naman asikasuhin nakatipid pa kayo. Save your money for other expenses.

Ako nga nagiisa pinsan lang meron ako sa AU the rest are in US and CA but majority are still in PH including my mommy. I consider CA as my first choice kc ang lapit sa US mabibisita ko pamangkin ko, mas mura at feel ko ang CA kesa sa AU mas marami mapuntahan. Pero winter scars me at yun job availability I'm a Java Developer some say marami naman daw vacancy but still I don't have experience working in that country kaya it's hard to tell but I'm open for any job kahit blue job for the mean time. I also have same thinking when I go to AU next year. Yun lang mas mura talaga sa AU pa punta pinas now that Cebupacific has open route to Sydney hope there's more demand to it para macontinue ang service nila. At sana laid back at malus ag mag leave bakasyon. I hate stress kc life is short should enjoy life.

For me I guess to know where suits me the best is to try both pero sa ngayon AU muna until I get citizenship then let see from there. Have you heard about CA plans to change the # of years of residency from 3 to 6 years? It is just a proposal from Congress I hope they won't push that bill. And I saw a picture in my friends fb, as early September bumagsak na yun snow. Suppose to be summer still bigla winter agad sad sila coz it would be the whole year na until summer gets back.

Good luck sis sa mga plans in the future and prayers will help u decide.

@bookworm Thank you for your insights. Plan nga namin ay hindi muna i give up ang PR kasi if citizenship baka sobra matagalan pero depende pa din po. Ang alam ko naman ata, hindi naman nila aalisin ang PR if mawala ka sa canada for1 yr - but Im not sure, ipagtatanong pa po namin. Atleast lang na yung baby namin ay citizen na sya, if in case na gusto nya dito in the future.

@orengoreng kung pwede lang mag switch for 1 year ikaw dito at sa AU naman kami just to experience if which is better ba, hehe!

Actually, ang ayaw lang naman namin talaga dito is winter and malayo sa pinas. Gastos sa pamasahe.. Hehe! Our parents are quite old na, and gusto naman namin sila mabisita once in a while, ayaw din naman kasi nila sumama dito in case pwede na kami mag sponsor. Nag visit sila dito for six months, and they want to go back na agad sa pinas, haha!

2 years na kami dito, and habang tumatagal humihigpit na sila. From temporary foreign workers, to caregiver and yun nga yung sinasabi mo na bill regarding sa citizenship.

We're thinking if God permits na makakuha si husband ng work or mgka visa kami, hindi ko sure kung pwedeng mawala dito ng 1 yr without cancelling our PR.. Eto siguro yung irresearch namin bago kami gumawa ng next step. Yung baby namin is citizen na so if paglaki nya at mas gusto nya pa din dito atleast hindi na sya mahirapan.

You should try din dito if you reAlly want to, ok naman eh. In terms of work, marami naman. Both me and my husband found a job after a month, cguro snwerte lang din. Kaso pag nag recession daw ang US damay din kami kasi dependent daw sila dun. Just be ready for winter and di ka naman siguro malulungkot dahil andito ang relatives mo.

Thank you so much for taking the to read my post! Message me pag nasa AU ka na ha! Good luck din! :)

Halos perfected na ng Australia ang immigration model nila nowadays so ang changes maybe to include/ not to include a certain skillset siguro or the cap for a certain year pero theres a lot of ways/ visa types to be in Australia lalo na may Canadian passport ka. Plus income din sa gov't yan immigration fees and yun nga malaki ang land area against population. Mukhang maganda naman ang relationship ng Australia and Canada ngaun so may mga possible mutual agreements yan along the way. Konting patience na lang and you can enjoy both worlds =)

Uu nga, living in Singapore is like living in a huge city daming acitivities. I'm going 6 years na dito and have the feeling ng nasasakal na. Kaya Australia na.

@vhoythoy Galing din pala kayo ng Singapore! Hehe! Tsaka yun din po plan namin mag baby, which is mahirap kapag dun sa singapore dahil di namin makakasama sya if ever. Kaya nag isip kami ibang way. Sa woodlands po pala kami before! Hehe! Haha!
