@vhoythoy Galing din pala kayo ng Singapore! Hehe! Tsaka yun din po plan namin mag baby, which is mahirap kapag dun sa singapore dahil di namin makakasama sya if ever. Kaya nag isip kami ibang way. Sa woodlands po pala kami before! Hehe! Haha!
Actually based pa rin ako ng Singapore now, papunta plang ng Australia early next year. Continuous ang progress nila dito like lau pa sat was re-opened and much improve, additional mrt line, shopping centers, etc.

Australia is the shortest ( 8 Months min in our exp ) / easiest ( IELTS, work cert etc point system ) and the more chances you can migrate to western country compared to US/Uk/Canada

Because by next year if continuous ang trabaho, ma normalised na ang tax ni @mhej...

Now kasi, he/she prolly has been working just for a few months before the end of financial year however the tax that is deducted from the salary is based on the annual figure.

So ayun, come tax filing, andaming sobrang tax na binawas...

    Hope it is making sense.

I have been working in Oz for the last 12 months. Been to the UK for 10 years and I can honestly say UK is better for me. I don't have to pay for sending my kids to school up to high school. Healthcare is mostly free, you don't need insurance. Dental for kids free as well. To apply for residency will cost less and is valid up to the time you apply for citizenship.

Australia has better wages and sun.

Lahat naman yan meron din sa oz
Free school till high school - check
Healthcare (insurance is not mandatory) - check
Kids Dental (income tested) - check

No idea for residency cost in UK but this("valid up to the time you apply for citizenship.") is the same thing in OZ.

Maybe in time. 12 months against 10 years medyo hindi pa magiging balance and comparison kasi adjustments period pa rin yan, depends also on your current jobs and locations in Oz. Maybe in right time, you can make better comparison. Are you a UK citizen na din ba?

Yup, I don't get this either - why are there a lot of POM's moving to Oz if the systems are better there? Is it just the weather? Or no choice because work sent them down under?

Good question. My main reason was higher salary and closer to PH. Yes i've got higher income but things here are more expensive. And flight cost to PH is not much of a difference.

Question for those who are AU citizen already, what good things are you getting from it?

Good question. My main reason was higher salary and closer to PH. Yes i've got higher income but things here are more expensive. And flight cost to PH is not much of a difference.

Question for those who are AU citizen already, what good things are you getting from it?

Travel overseas without the need for visa application :)

I think Merc2013 UK passport is better than Australia in terms of travel. I've somewhere that UK passport is the #1 when it comes to visa free travel. I think most of Poms reason for migrating are change in lifestyle while some weather. Mas relax daw buhay sa Australia as compared to UK, though ung iba naisipan din bumalik kasi mas maginhawa buhay nila sa UK. While some pinoys, hindi ma-maximize ung Europe opportunity dahil sa language barrier. Tsaka yung nga, better to experience life on the other side hehehe

Isa sa main selling point ng Australia is outdoor living and laidback lifestyle.

Bit of life in the UK.

At the age of 16 you are required to get a national insurance number. Same when you are about to start a job. Small part of your wages goes into this national insurance contribution which is deducted every payday. This goes into the healthcare system.

I had my appendix taken out, my second child was born there on cs operation and one Filipino I've known had a major heart operation. We spend nothing.

You need to have a tv licence to be able to watch the tv shows otherwise you will be fined.

Every car over 3 years old need to have mandatory check and every year after and need to pass. If not you need to fix it before they can issue a certificate. You have to pay a road tax every year, cost depends on type of your car

Education is free for government school and next year a free meal will be offered to school children.

You need to pay council tax as well.

Normal working hours is around 7.5 hours.

You will be lucky to have the sun for a week or two on summer.

To apply for a permanent residency in the UK will cost around $2000 and citizenship $1650.
No medical exam to both. No expiry for PR. I think in OZ its more of a business.
