@HELEN28 parang iba nga. Ang school ko is University of the Philippiines Iloilo campus sa list dito under sec 2 pero sa respall wala na sya sa sec 2 tapos di na naka specify per campus ang UP sa section 1, meaning entire UP system pala section 1 based sa updated list? Though I talked with a migration agent around August last year sabi nya sec 2 school ko. Hhmmm.. If tama nga ang nasa list sayang naman ang 5 points ko pwede na sana ako nag direcho ng 190 instead of 489.

Pag sinabi po bang autonomous status ang school/university na pinasukan natin, meaning magfall na po ba siya as section 1? May recent update po kasi ang CHED regarding sa pag grant ng mga status ng school natin. Updated po kaya ang CEP Australia. Katulad po ng Adamson University, Autonomous Status na po siya by year 2010 pero til now under section 2 pa rin po which is deregulated and re-accredited institution.

Hello po, Is it safe to claim 10pts kapag under sec 2 ang school? para no need ng emg pa vet assess and hindi rin over claimed?

@krishnaz that's a possible strategy but be mindful that your invite is very much dependent on how much points you have at EOI stage. Nowadays you need at least 70 to get invited for 189 visa. Imagine if you've just assumed 10 points when you could have claim 5 more, in effect get invited sooner.

@krishnaz I think it's best na mgpa assess ka na lang via VETASSESS if ilang points yung pwede mo ma claim.

@krishnaz @guenb VETASSESS base their points advice on CEP so she'll end up with the same conclusion. I would save the money if I was in her position.

@krishnaz mag ask ka pa ng ibang opinion gling sa iba na nag RPL sa ACS, kasi previously yan yung nkita ko na ginawa, VETASSES points test advice yung tawag, it's much cheaper compared sa full assessment ng VETASSES pero at least they can confirm na 10 or 15pts ba yung overseas qualification. ACS kasi will advise you that they wont assess your education since it's non-IT.

Applications for Points Test Advice are usually required where:

I suggest you do this after you get assessment from ACS, pero sympre it's still up to you

Thanks @guenb , yup wait ko muna result ng RPL ko then exam na rin sa PTE, incase need pa ng mataas na points paassess na rin ako sa Vetassess.

@guenb may isa akong kausap ditto sa forum na hindi na nagpa-assess sa vetassess kasi Section 1 school nya, pero meron din na nagsuggest na magpa-vetassess kasi section 2 rin school. Kya ito ako 50/50 hehe... pero anyway un na lang po muna plan ko wait ko muna mga result ng RPL and PTE. salamat

@guenb @krishnaz as mentioned previously, VETASSESS and all assessing authorities refer to CEP to base their decisions on qualification. For a degree to equate to an Australian degree qualification from university under section 2, the average grade must be 84% higher or passed the licensing exam. The points test advice from VETASSESS would yield the same outcome. Never have I recommended my clients to resort to this to help them save on unnecessary fees.

@RheaMARN1171933 thanks for the info! I just mentioned about the points test advice since i know someone on this forum who did the RPL & in the end she still had to take the PTA, but good to know

@krishnaz I agree with @RheaMARN1171933 . She is a migration agent btw, and her advise is same with what vetassess will indicate on the outcome letter of the points test advisory. If your school is section 2 and you did not reach the 2.0 gwa then you will only get 10 points. You dont need to spend for the PTA with vetassess anymore, you just need to know your school's section and gwa, its not a requirement after all. Were only required of the skills assessment, no need for PTA. Thanks

@krishnaz. I computed mine by multiplying the grade with the corresponding unit then got the average. To be sure, you may check with your school for your GWA. Thanks

Hi what if section 2 and school pero d ka umabot ng 84% or 2.0 n GWA. Di ko pa nacheck ung GWA ko pero I would like to know anu impact if ever. Sana nmn nsa 2 xa. And pra sa buong school year ba un or sa last sem lang?

Hi!

Newbie here. Ask ko lang, will i/we get an additional point if section 1 yung school ng husband ko? he's from Mapua Intramuros (sec 1) and i'm from Mapua Makati (sec 2.. bummer) and I'll be the principal applicant. I was informed na I will get additional points from my husband's skills\degree but either it wasn't explained clearly to me or di ko lang naiintindihan and di ako nakinig ng maayos. hehe

@nowherelass you cannot claim additional points for just the degree alone, to claim partner points (+5), your hubby also needs a positive skill assessment and English proficiency exam.
