Sharing our tipid budget (couple, no kids)

Rent: 200pw per couple (1 room in a 2br flat in southwest NSW, 30-40 mins to the city by train. We share this with 1 pinay)
Groceries: 80pw per couple (I bring baon to the office, my breakfast at work is free, my bf meanwhile has free lunch)
Utilities: so far 40 per couple (for about 45 days of stay) pa lang binayaran namin for electricity, so di ko pa sure yung budget dito. May gas at water pa.
Transpo: 40pw per person (5 days working- train and bus, saturdays for errands and taking advantage of the sunday 2.6 flat fee to go around sydney :)
Phone: 7pw per person (bought the Vodafone $2 prepaid sim, recharged 20 fgood for 1 yr and weekly add-on recharge of 7 for 4gb data weekly. I rarely use call and texts so this works for me)

No car as we find public transpo quite convenient pa naman. Our place is a 7min walk to the station. Home wifi is included in our rent.

We do buy some stuff for our place but when we moved in our flatmate has everything furnished so we don't really have to buy a lot.

We normally spend 20-50 every Sunday for food when we go out :) our suburb has really nice cheap restaurants- meals for 10 for example.

This is our starter budget. Maybe makatulong sa mga newly arrived singles/couples like us :)

@TasBurrfoot kaya until tumuntong ang iho namin to public school, hindi pa kami makabili ng property.

also the same reason why we're delaying having baby #2. Hindi na kaya ng konsensya ko magbayad ng $320 per day for 2 kids in childcare. lol

sa case ko, yes. Depende rin kasi yung cost-effectiveness sa type of career ng partners.

My partner earns more than me. So it isn't cost effective if she stays home kasi she brings in around 55% of the family income.

Childcare is also beneficial to the child itself. It develops their social skills, motor skills, communication skills really early on compared if nasa bahay lang 7 days a week.

I work 4 days a week lang, Fridays off at 80% remuneration of course. Me giving up 20% of my income to spend 1 whole day with our bub is worth every penny, and more. I don't think I can go back to working 5 days, tbh. hahaha.

Partner works from home on Wednesdays.

We're quite lucky with our employers.

Mas okay pa rin ang daycare vs nanny kasi sa nanny walang rebate. hehe.

@PMPdreamer Finance/IT industry, global corporation, kaya siguro mas flexible. nakakaganda rin kasi sa branding yun. Pero, most of the companies naman in AU are flexible with parents and young families. So factor that in when you look for a job. Super important especially with younglings.

@PMPdreamer it's actually by law so lahat ng company dapat mag comply or else you also have the right na magreklamo. Pag global corporation usually meron silang induction and isang part yan sa ipapaalam nila sayo.
