hello po engineers!

i am new in this thread.
and dream ko po talaga magwork sa WA.

2012 - ece graduate po ako
2013 - magboard exam

i am now 22 and no work experience. hindi naman po ako nagmamadali na pumunta sa Oz. pero ayaw ko po masayang ung time. and i am looking forward na after 5yrs. or less makakarating na din ako jan. :-)

meron po ba kau advice na dapat ko gawin at iprepare for my future?
sa tingin niu po, mas maganda ba na magmasters degree pa ako or enough na ung magkaroon ako ng work experience?
meron din po ako relatives sa WA. pero mas mura yata kung independent ung kukunin?

@catherinem welcome! it's good that as early as now, you know what you want and you are planning for it..

my suggestions:
1. read/understand the EOI points system, so you know how to get the maximum points.
Example if you apply for Skilled Visa, you can get maximum points if your age is between 25-32 years old.. so crucial kung mag-apply ka pa lang pag 32 kana..

2. Prepare for your English Test.. again related to No.1 the higher your english score the higher your EOI points..

3. Find work experience relevant to your degree, and then check if your degree/work experience is still in demand in AU or in any state..

4. Masteral Degree? Related to1st advice.. EOI points for having Masteral or Bachelor Degree is the same.. assuming you Bachelor Degree is equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Degree.. this is another reading topic (your degree, grades and school/university classification)..

5. Keep updated with the changes in the immigration guidelines.. it might not be the same 5 years from now..

In addition in finding work experience, I strongly suggest na makapasok ka sa oil and gas industry as an Instrument Engineer or E&I engineer, since O&G is booming in WA. As an ECE grad pwede ka mag start ng career sa mga industrial automation companies like Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB, Honeywell, etc. (sa pagkaalam ko lahat sila meron office sa Pinas). Check mo n lang or do further research. All those mentioned companies have oil and gas projects and accepting new graduates. Pwede ka rin mag enroll ng special and advance course about instrumentation ng sa gayon madali ka makapasok sa mga mentioned companies. In this way, maaga mo mai-focus sa tama ang career mo. Greetings to all.

I'm a new forum member here in pinoyau.info and I find this this forum very informative.

Me and my wife is contemplating on migrating to australia and we plan to start our application this year. I would like to ask sana kung sino sa amin has the best chances of landing a PR visa as principal applicant. Our profile is as follows

Me;

Profession : Electrical Engineer (Non-Registered)
Age : 40 yrs old
Years of Experience : 14 years

Wife;

Profession : Registered Nurse
Age : 26 yrs old
Years of Experience : 4 years

P.S.

I don't have a license. Will that be an issue on my EA assessment? Can I still get a positive assessment.

Do I still have a good chance of starting an engineering career in australia considering my age?

my opinion:
- you should be the primary applicant, overseas nurses will need to study first (AU Nursing -Bridging Program approx 15kAUD/year tuition fee) before they can be registered as nurse, and before they can get skills assessment..

- estimate your points, you should have 60pts to pass.. visit DIAC website or

- several people mentioned here, there is no discrimination in terms of age/gender when it comes to work.. what's important is your skills.

- License? i dont think this is necessary.. the EA requirement says "Certified evidence of registration under the relevant licensing authority in the country in which you are
practising [if necessary]".

I hope someone can confirm if they got their EA assessment even without phil license...

here.. i made it easy for you.. it looks like PRC license is not mandatory..

this guy is also an EE from philippines.. he submitted his PRC license, he said his friend DID NOT, but still got a positive skills assessment from EA..

I only scored 55 points in Skill Select point test. I'm going for state sponsorship for the lacking 5 points if ever I couldn't get band 8 on IELTS. Any recommendation on what state can I apply for SS. Most of my experience is on construction field particularly MEP.

Yup.. if you need more points, you can either..
- get a State Sponsorship Visa 190 (5pts) PR visa
- or Regional Sponsorship Visa 489 (additional 10pts), this is a 4yr Temporary visa, and will restrict you to work/live in a regional area for a period of time.. (2yrs po yata).. after this you will need to apply for another PR visa as either independent or employer sponsored..

you need to check each State's website and their SNOL - State Nominated Occupation List, to see which state can still nominate you..

Sana nga po. Even CDR from other engineering trades po kung meron. Just want to know the flow and structure of CDR contents and summary. EE sample would be lot more help. Thanks.

@shumalex, have you checked EA website, download the Skills Migration Booklet?
nandun po lahat ng basic requirements and how to write your CDR...

@dhey_almighty sobrang bagal boss at malala pa diyan nung nareceive ko yung akin. dated 1 month before meaning pinadala ni EA ng Aug, na receive ko ng Sep dahil dumagdag pa sa bagal post office sa Pinas. Ewan ko lang kung gaano katagal kung dyan sa Saudi mo pina address..

Hi!! bago lang ako dito hingi lang sana ako ng insights sa mga ECE underboard like me na based or bound to Melbourne. indemand ba ang ECE jan?hindi ba mahirap maghanap ng work? paano pala kung iba yung line ng work experience?
ganito kasi ang case ko eh, more than 2 yrs na ako as mechanical designer until today..

ECE ako with 8 years experience in semiconductor industry as Failure Analysis Engineer of integrated circuits (ICs) and electronic components. My wife is metallurgical engineer from UP but nagwork sya as Process engineer and also failure anaysis engineer in semiconductor industry din. Ask ko lng po kung meron ba related na jobs for us? And which part of OZ? I tried to look for jobs sa seek as failure analysis engr but walang result. I see na meron electronics company but mga design engineer ang madami.

My wife is metallurgical engineer from UP but nagwork sya as Process engineer and also failure anaysis engineer in semiconductor industry din. Ask ko lng po kung meron ba related na jobs for us? And which part of OZ? I tried to look for jobs sa seek as failure analysis engr but walang result. I see na meron electronics company but mga design engineer ang madami.

Baka po masyadong specific ang search criteria nyo, or pwede naman kayong mag apply sa mga jobs na hindi same sa prev work exp nyo, pero pwede sa qualification nyo..

For example,, baka gusto nyo sa Telecoms... for electrical/energy/electronics.. check nyo ung Schneider or Emerson.. alam ko may mga manufacturing plants sila sa AU..
For Metallurgical.. most likely sa mining po yan.. marami sa WA and QLD..

Based on your description, pareho naman po kayong Engineer.. so kahit sino pwede maging principal applicant, yung sa tingin nyo will give more points in terms of age, work exp and english IELTS score..

@lock_code2004: thanks po sa comment . Sa semiconductor industry din kc job experience ni mrs kya baka mabalewala lng yung metallurgical degree nya. But willing nmn mgstart uli para makakuha ng job experience related sa degree.

For my case hanap n lng cguro ng related na job kung wala tlgang kapareho sa experience ko. Thanks po ulit sa reply.
