siguro pwede ma extend given the circumstances e pwede kayo magreason out tungkol dyan

mas okay na pahupain muna ang Covid bago pumunta dito for the following points:

    1. d mo rin naman sure kung makakalabas ka ng Pinas until then;
    2. pagdating dito quarantine ka, saan ka hahanap ng iyong accommodation?
    3. d ka rin makalabas to process ur medicare, pag d sya activated, paano na lang pag naospital ka, kuha ka private insurance?
    4. d ka rin makakahanap ng work, wala ka pang phone sim, d ka maka open account, d ka makakaonline grocery.
    5. d ka din makakahanap ng trabaho

in short makalusot ka man, mahihirapan ka pa din dito, baka maubos baon mo nyan...

just stay where you are at the moment and wait when things are back to normal.

this is an evolving phenomena, soon all will be better.

I super agree. The 14 day quarantine will limit your activities inside your home/accomodation. Otherwise if caught, you will face fines and jail time. Authorities will do random checks to see if you are really at home.

BUT OF COURSE YOU DONT WANT TO BE THIS KIND OF PERSON given this Covid situation? And remember the consequences: fines, jailtime and matic yan pasok sa criminal record.

For me, if you can have means to afford to BM and discipline to be quarantined for 14 days, why not, BM na :) :) . Arrange your accomodation prior to getting here or stay in hotel maybe. Have someone buy your necessities, groceries and food (take note: walang grocery online shopping and delivery in some areas at the moment). You can enroll din naman in private health insurance na pwede weekly ang coverage, term and payment.

As for the job hunting, definitely several industries will be affected like hospitality and tourism, if dito ka belong prepare to be jobless for a while. Pero if nasa health industry ka, in demand ka for sure. As for my industry, accounting, I started applying beginning of March, so far wala pa mga callback. I did receive few emails from some companies that they will not have face-to-face interviews at the moment, pero they will arrange for video call interviews.

As per Prime Minister national address this morning, he wants everthing to be as if business as usual, he wants people to continue to work, the kids to go to school and keep economy and businesses running. So sana, and I hope, companies will continue recruiting.

sir, makiki-pa-update ako sayo whatever response you get from immi. 489 holder here as well and may nabasa kasi akong ganitong clause sa isang article eh.

"What happens if you're outside Australia?

You will not be allowed back until the travel restrictions have been lifted - and no-one knows when that may be. This also applies to temporary visa holders currently in Australia who may have planned to leave and come back.

If you've already obtained a temporary visa and have not yet entered the country, you will need to re-apply once the restrictions are lifted."

    Ano kayang ibig sabihin nito?

    1. Regardless kung within the IE due date ka pa tapos na lift yung travel restirctions need pa din mag re-apply ng visa? Or

    Labo.

@mightysigs sure, we might get an answer only nextweek. hahaha. From what I can see, it only means if your visa expires within the lockdown period, then you need to re-apply for a new one. sa atin namin is 4 yrs eh, yung issue lang is IE. My IE is sa Oct pa naman but I was planning to go this May then this happened.... hayyysss....

@brodpete77 I only got this from the other forum from ms @lecia : [email protected]
// [email protected].. I emailed the 2nd one.

but then Australia, hindi pa naman sila specifially ng sabi na kasmi temp worker, yung NZ prime minister pa lang. Pero most likely they will follow siguro or I dont know... hayyysss....

**New Zealand Prime Minister **Jacinda Ardern told a press conference that citizens and permanent residents can still return, but their options are running out as many commercial airlines are cancelling flights.

"I'm not willing to tolerate risk at our borders," Ms Ardern told a media conference.

"Today’s decision stops any tourist, or temporary visa holder such as students or temporary workers, from coming to and entering into New Zealand," the prime minister said.

In 3 weeks time dumami na and yun nga starting bukas, lockdown na ang NSW, Victoria and Canberra.

I would assume na since ang mga companies ngayon dito e working on abnormal circumstances (work from home) - job hiring may be put on hold muna till when di naten alam.

If mag BM kayo, you will be under mandatory 14 day self quarantine, and take note na if makikitira kayo sa kaibigan, pati sila madadamay sa self quarantine so hindi sya magiging ideal. 14 days sa hotel will easily slash 2000 off your ipon din.

We can never say when is the best time to come (ngayon ba or after a few months pa) because we don’t know how things will progress.

If you are moving here then with very limited resources, I suggest to stay where you are right now, mag ipon muna ng madami because getting a job at this time may be extra challenging.

Mag iingat tayong lahat at dagdagan ang dasal :)

@mccontre Pwede kahit saan ang IE. Pero hindi ka makakapasok ng AU with a visa 489 right now. Citizens & PR lang ang pinapapasok ATM.

    Hello everyone,
I was reading your post and we can relate with the challenges.

We moved to Sydney last March 20, currently on a 14-day self quarantine at a hotel. Since the covid outbreak and plans for a city lockdown, medyo mahirap yata makahanap ng work. Would you know of our alternatives? Some friends advised us to visit Centrelink for an allowance. Can we qualify for a Jobseeker allowance? Any other options?

    Keep safe, everyone.
