I have to agree with vodafone.

Vodafone ako nung first month ko dito. Nawawala signal pag nasa loob ako ng tren, hahaha! Then I changed over to Virgin. 2 weeks lang, iniwan ko rin. I found it too expensive sa totoo lang.

So now I'm with Amaysim and have been so for almost 6 months. It uses the optus 3G network. So, really good actually. But cheaper than optus. Amaysim is a reseller, as bossing @JCSantos mentioned. For $39 a month, 4G data, unli call, unli text to all networks. And cheaper din ang international. Super sulit.

Abigail, (girl na girl name mo noh, hehe :D), visa debit most bank accounts dito. Pag open mo ng account dito, pwede siya visa debit AND/OR credit. Can function like a credit card, pero direct debit. You will learn the ropes once you get here.

The thing about Amaysim is puro online lahat yan. Walang in-store customer service, hindi tulad ng Telstra or Virgin or Optus na meron. Kaya baka manibago ka. Or baka mahirapan ka sa umpisa. That's the reason bakit siya mura, wala sila overhead expenses, because they operate mainly online.

pero so far, yung maysim ata ang pinaka-ok a nakita ko dito...yun nga lang, as uve said, mahihirapan at first kse puro online ang transaction...anjan ka naman para tanungan ko eh...kita ko nga po na may 50% discount sila ngayon till end of the month sa sim!!

hello sydney peeps... can anyone here comment sa list of budget na ginawa ko for a month for a SOLOISTA. Please...
1.) room share rental (at least 200 per week X 4 weeks in a month) = 800 AUD
    2.) transportation (multi pass for train,bus, ferry = 50 per week X 4wks) = 200 AUD
    3.) food (50 X 4 weeks) = 200 AUD
4.) load for cellular phones / post paid (haven't searched yet..???...estimate) 100 AUD
5.) Miscellaneous per month (clothes, extras) ...................................... = 200 AUD
    __________________________________________________________________________________
TOTAL OF (AUD PER MONTH EXPENSES) 1,500.00 AUD
    ____________________________________________________________________________________

sa job hunting, and sa walang income, in a 9K AUD ba-on, i will survive na ng mga 6 months...??? any comment/ additions/ other information ??... it will help me a lot sa preparation ko po..thank you.

@psychoboy Just curious, for what yung dental checkup? Though I heard from a friend, mahal nga daw dental work dun like pasta etc, so mas maganda dito na sa pinas ipagawa before umalis.
sinagot mo na... :) ipagawa ang dapat ipagawa before aalis!
to add to this - supposedly just wanted a cleaning however the dentist found some $hits underneath my molar. turned out there was a dead tooth that needs to be either (1) extracted or (2) undergo root canal procedure.

I opted for #2 - cost me 7500 here in Bicol; still expensive but a lot cheaper had it been done in Melbourne which they say would easily go north of A$6K...

    Damn...
Curious.. wouldn't it be covered by medicare? I mean wala ba dental privileges din ang medicare. if meron, ano disadvantage?

    Yup, no dental in medicare...

People here if there is no proper health insurance coverage (which can be costly) would fly to Bangkok to have a dental surgery done if needed... Adding the cost of flying, accommodation and professional fee, it would still come out cheaper daw.

i dont see any issue here.. some things to consider..
    1) of course mag apply kayo ng tourist visa for parents
    2) baka kailangan ng DSWD permit dahil magtravel ang kids w/o their parents..
    3) and then dapat maka entry sila before the IED..
