hello po, paano po yung sa educational qualification, pag po may Bachelor's Degree po ba automatic 15 points ang makukuha, nakasaad dun na award from a recognized standard, pag sa UP po graduate, considered na yun? Thanks

Reply to @Judzdoha: based on the information from DIAC, your assessing agency will give opinion on your bachelor's degree if its comparable to AU standard..

but in the end, DIAC's case officer will have the final decision..
so far, lahat pa nmn ng mga nandito sa forum ay nabigyan ng 15 pts for their Bachelor's degree..

may mga nagtatanong din sa akin about DIAC's 15 pts for having a Bachelor's Degree but i'm not quite sure if tama ang pagkaintindi ko. yung Bachelor's degree ng applicant, kelangan ba related sa nominated occupation para magka-15 pts?

Reply to @hotshot: You can see this information on the "Points" tab of each visa type under SkillSelect:

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
You may be able to receive points for a qualification that is not related to your nominated occupation. If the authority that conducts your skills assessment cannot give you an opinion about this qualification, contact Vocational Education Training and Assessment Services.

This is the also written on all previous information regarding points system:

An applicant may also be able to claim points for a qualification not related to their nominated occupation, for example they may hold a trade qualification related to their nominated occupation and an unrelated Bachelor degree. If the assessing authority conducting their skills assessment cannot provide an opinion on the non related qualification, applicants should contact the Vocational Education Training and Assessment Services (VETASSESS). VETASSESS is the national assessing authority for a broad range of management, administration, professional and associate professional occupations.

The decision to award points for Educational qualification remains with of the departmental case officer.

@jaero - totoo yan boss; I initially though that for Pinoy, the waiting time between the time you submit to the time you will be granted a decision will be around 6-12 months BUT I am surprise that some get theirs within 3 months... :)

kung ang points mo umabot ng 60pts kahit wala pang IELTS results, kailangan mo rin bang 7 mo pa rin lahat ng modules?

hi.. why would you want to have your work experience assessed, even though its not related to your nominated occupation? i asked this question, because for purpose of DIAC's points system, this will be useless...

now, if you really want to have an assessment, then go to the relevant authority..
    example;
-nominated skills is Engineer (go to EA, for educ and work exp assessment)
-if you have an IT work experience (not closely related to Engineering), then assessment will be by ACS..

give me more details or example... para i can give my opinion..

@lock_code2004 actually in my case, i had my skills and employment assessed by ICCA (Institute of Chartered Accountant in Australia). i have 2 work experiences. first, in the Philippines where i work as Accountant with 4 years duration and secondly, i am currently working here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from March 2007 to date.

However, ung work experience ko dito sa KSA, was not considered by ICAA as in accordance with my nominated occupation ( Accountant- General), since my job position is not directly Accountant, but my duties and responsibilities are basically in line with Accounting profession which i described on the detailed job description that i submitted to the institute and also i am under Accounts Section of my department in our company.

that is why i was planning to have my current job to be assessed and included with my qualifications.

    Thanks.

@wynx so i think your worry is para maka-abot sa DIAC's points for work experience?

sabi sa DIAC, case officer pa rin ang final decision to give you the points for work experience.. so kung makikita nmn nila na accounting related ang current work mo eh ibibigay nila ang points..

question, did you ask ICAA kung bakt hindi nila naconsider ang current work experience mo?
baka nakalimutan lang nila.. sguro mas maganda itanong mo sa kanila..
