Skilled Migration Points Test Under SkillSelect (Point System on July 2012)

IELTS has a 6.5 score in Reading. so wala kaming points s English Proficiency. State Sponsorship naman kami so total score will be 60pts. I am thinking of remarking the result or retake the IELTS exam.

any advise from you guys? should we retake/remark IELTS to get the 10pts and have 70pts? or wag na lang since SS namin kami?

Remarking for Reading / Listening has a low chance to increase the score since the checking of these modules were done objectively unlike Writing/Speaking which is subjective thus it has a higher chance of increasing the score when requested for remarking.

sa tingin ko mas magandang wag na lang po, baka masayang lang ang gagastusin nyo. or better yet retake na lang po ng exam kung may extra budget naman

@viperbuzz12 we have the same case po. Mg reretake me ng ielts this dec 1 (my 3rd) pero ngpasa na dn kme ng SA SS. Antay na ln tayu ng positive results sa SS

@killerbee yan nga rin naisip ko n malayong maremark un ielts score since reasing ito. buti sana kun writing or speaking. thanks s advise. yung budget nga magiging factor if magretake kami.

@robertsg good luck s exam mo s dec1. isipin p namin if magretake kami. pero magsubmit n rin kami eoi and ss.

Hello po....

Good thing someone told me about this forum... I really need help or advice from you guys...

Gusto ko kasi talagang mag migrate pero i am not too sure kung saang category ako papasok at magpapasa para sa application for VISA. hmmm... I'm a graduate and licensed ECE, pero indi na ako nagparenew after I got residency here in Singapore and my current job is not really pang ECE kasi I got into Quality engineering field. Pano po kaya yun? From the start QA engineer (HDD manufacturing) ako for 2 years and 10 months sa Pinas then nung andito ako sa SG na employ ako as QA manager (repair and reverse logistic industry) tpos current job ko Quality Supervisor (electronic distribution Centre). Di po sya masyadong technical na technical kasi aside from I'm into certification and audits eh more on team management and customer complaint analysis ang ginagawa ko. Not so much on electronics talaga... So I am not too sure kung pwede ko pang gamitin un tapos mag apply for assessment as electronics engineer... Kung engineer manager naman parang not enough yung experience...

Any suggestion po?

- first is check mo muna ang SOL at CSOL, kung anung mga occupation ang pwede mo inominate
- then check mo ang job description ng mga occupation na malapit sa degree or work mo..
google mo lang ang ANZSCO code at makikita mo dun kung alin sa mga occupation ang tugma sa current job description mo..

so example, reading from your statements, I can easily suggest two occupations na possible:
- Electronics Engineer - 233411 - Engineers Australia
- Quality Assurance Manager -139914 - VETASSESS

maraming pa sigurong iba nasa SOL/CSOL, check and then proceed from there...

baka you they are referring to Engineering Manager for Engineers Australia (assessment) compared to Professional Engineers (yan ung CE, ME, EE, IE..etc)..

iba po ang QA Manager sa Vetasses ang assessment.. this is more like a generic title.. basahin nyo po muna ang job description.. then check the requirements for assessment..

kahit anu po ang work nyo pwede pagdating sa AU..

dec 14 ang uwi namin sa pinas, we will not be coming back to singapore to work.

april 3 naman ang flight namin to melbourne from pinas.

tama, sa EA ksi kailangan pa ng CDR (3 career episodes), sa vetassess as long as you can provide yung requirements (COE with detailed job descriptions, diploma/tor), you are good to go..

i'm not sure kung required pa nila ang PRC lincense, baka pwede na just your initial board rating/result.. and then your diploma/tor will be enough..

marami ka mapupulot na tips dun.. mag back read ka...
I dont think required ang IELTS for the Vetassess assessment (please double check sa Vetasses website)..
so what you can do is submit your assessment, then while waiting for the result, you can do your ielts review, it really depends on your confidence and your ielts score required (if you need score of 7 IELTS to get 10 pts sa DIAC).. meron iba 1 month self review lang...

I received my positive skills assessment from vetassess last week. meron akong 5 employers (3 sa sg 2006-2012, 2 sa ph 2003-2006). pero dahil nahirapan ako habulin ang mga employers ko sa ph, un mga sg work docs lang ang pinasa ko sa vetassess, although naka-declare sa application at cv ko ang 5 employers. sa points test advice, un 3 sg jobs lang ang considered syempre so ang makiclaim kong points ay "more than 5 yrs overseas work experience".

so nagsubmit na ako ng EOI after ko makuha un vetassess result. dineclare ko un 5 kong trabaho. so syempre sa points test breakdown ang pwede ko i-claim is "more than 8 yrs overseas work experience" na. and fortunately nakuha ko na un statement of service ko sa mga ph employers ko (although walang paid evidence pa din) na pwede ko ipasa sa diac in case ma-invite na ko.

kaso ngayon, kakakuha ko lang ng correspondence sa skillselect na i-review ko daw un points test claim ko. eto un nakasulat:
It is prudent to seek the opinion of the relevant assessing authority on your skilled employment and qualification claims before you lodge your EOI.
If you lodge a visa application and your points score is assessed to be less than claimed in your EOI and invitation letter, your visa application may be refused even if you are able to pass the points test or meet other threshold criteria.

kinakabahan ako, dapat ba di ko na isama sa EOI ko un 2 work ko sa ph?
ang akala ko points test advise is pang-advise lang sa diac, meron pa rin sariling assessment ang diac tama ba?
80 pts na ko ngayon sa EOI, mas mabuti na lang ba na wag ko na isama un 2 ph work ko para wala ng hassle, in the end i will still have 75 pts?

welcome po sa forum @mrs_sharky .

during the Submission of your EOI, you were asked to breakdown your work experiences per employer and each of this experience, you were also asked if this were assessed by an assessing authority. imho, the reason why you have received a correspondence from DIAC is because they might have noticed the conflict from the assessed work experiences versus the total years of experience you have (including those from PH).

you mentioned you already have 75 points less the experiences you have in PH, so I suggest you can just omit them or better yet declare them but make sure you mentioned that your experiences in PH were not assessed.

your 75 points will be more than enough to land you an invitation this coming 01 December so cheer up.

Question about EOI, sa education portion.

Ang idedeclare mo na ba na education eh yung assessed na, na AQF equivalent to get points? for example ang assessment ng ACS or yung Education mo sa Pinas?

Nalilito lang po ako, kasi nakalagay dun i list lahat ng non-AQF degrees and etc.

Educational qualifications at time of invitation

Doctorate from an Australian educational institution or other Doctorate of a recognised standard -20points

At least a Bachelor degree, including a Bachelor degree with Honours or Masters, from an Australian educational institution or other degree of a recognised standard -15points

Diploma or trade qualification completed in Australia, or qualification or award of recognised standard -10points

dun ako na enlighten sa "assessed work experience versus total years of experience". I guess diac really does consider un opinion ng vetassess. Nakalagay kase sa vetassess points advisory letter na ang diac pa din may final say. Pero tanggalin ko na lang din un sa pinas work ko para sure. Mahirap na hehe! Thank u thank u thank u!

@legato09 - you should put the assessed educational qualification..
so if your assessment says your degree is equivalent to AQF bachelor, then you can claim for 15pts..

Yup, kahit 9 ka sa OBS but you got a 7.5 sa writing... 10pts ka lang din.
