    Hello guys,

    Sorry i'm kinda new here.. Our (my husband and i) visa was granted recently. It's a state sponsored visa. My husband was the primary applicant. We plan to go to Perth by September of this year and I was wondering if I still need to take an IELTS to get a job there. I was his dependent in the application and i only gave my university's 'english as a medium of instruction' form as proof of functional english. I never took an ielts. Do employers there look for this before they hire you?

    @omobelle I suppose you don't need to take IELTS anymore. Just bring necessary documents like your diploma and other supporting docs, and more importantly your CV/resume and reference letters/COE :)

Pero nasa inyo pa rin po yun kung gusto nyong mag take para added credentials na rin. Pwede na rin po naman kayo sa Au na mag take if needed ba talaga sa work dun. Good Luck po!

    IELTS will open the gates to Australia but it's the work experience that will land you the job when you're there :)

    @HaideeN nag-apply na po ba si mister? hehe...kahit medyo magulo ekonomiya sa maraming bansa, tuloy tuloy pa rin ang demand sa mining kaya hindi kayo mahihirapan sa visa niyan :)

    @LokiJr, Sir, araw araw nman po nag aaply sya hehehe. Madami po offers kaso gusto po nila may visa na, bihira na po nag sponsor off shore. Mag lodge na po kami ngaung august. :)

    may naka try naba sa 457 visa na exempted sa ielts coz they have 5 years consecutive schooling where the medium of instruction and exam is in english. isa kasi yan sa exemptions eh.kaya im taking that route.i cant take ielts exam on saturday due to religious convictions.and all ielts exam this year fall on saturday.

    VISA: Subclass 457 Business Long Stay
    August 23, 2012 - Lodge date
    August 31, 2012 - Medical Exam completed
    September 13, 2012 - Medical Exam Result Referred
    October 12, 2012 - Health Undertaking signed

I'm currently working as SAP Technology Consultant in one of the Multinational IT companies dito sa Pinas. Pero dream ko po talga ng mag work sa OZ.     @icebreaker1928, first of all congratulations for having a job offer. :) Is it before tax pa? If yes, roughly mga 3500 per month ang net mo, meron ka na savings nyan. If you're single, ok na po yan as a start. Pero if married and your family will be coming with you, enough lang for your expenses unless your partner is magwowork din or makakuha agad ng work.

    As for me, I'll take it na. Consider mo din yung work na gagawin mo and the experience that you'll be gaining. It may be more than worth it. God bless! :)

    tapos family of 3 kami, wife and son kasama ko....
    hindi rin magwowork misis ko kasi wala pa mag-aalaga sa bata...

    actually yung employer ko is client namin dito sa Pinas na nag outsource samen...
    nagpaalam ako kung pede lumipat sa kanila... pumayag naman, kaya lang ang baba ng bigay nyaaaaa...

    siguro accept ko offer nila tapos hanap na lang dun ng malilipatan na mas mataas (walang utang na loob lol)

    kesa sa magpunta ako dun ng walang work...
