Mahirap na ba? OMG... but I like SG naman ang liit ng tax tapos pag Englishero ka pa mas may edge ka sa iba specially kung may accent ka. :) No offense.

    :)
Kahit a successful application for a Permanent Residence here in Singapore is becoming rare nowadays. Case in point was my Global Brand Manager for a certain FMCG company here; less than 2 months after he applied, he got the response in a thin envelope (meaning his application was rejected...)

One of the VP also in our bank, despite the fact that he is caucasian, he also got ta response in less than 2 months in a thin envelope.

I could imagine it would even be harder I believe to get the SG Citizenship... :)

and yeah, there is no such thing as a dual citizenship for Singaporeans! :D

    Bakit Australia?

Walang kasi halos infectious diseases na nakakapasok - like H1N1 or SARS. I supposed ganun din sa NZ.

Naalala ko early 90's may mga taong nagka-TB dito, but they found out na most of them galing holiday overseas.

Just a thought that crossed my mind. Im not questioning about the integrity of the family benefits from the govt or anything, maybe it is indeed good. But I just thought if their country is family oriented, why do they only have 20 million population? Looking at their huge geography in the map, theyre not just a country but they are a continent!!

Just a thought why like that hehe. :-B

Based on an article I read before, that's the reason why AU government gives family benefits like child care allowance. Dahil maliit population nila, they encourage their people to grow their families by providing allowances. This is one way for them to cultivate human resource and eventually minimize migrating other nationalities in their country. That's have been their program for so long but still di pa din lumalaki population nila and patuloy pa din migration plans nila. Actually, tumataas ang population nila but that's because of migrants. If you think about it further, opposite sa Pilipinas. That's one of the sad truths in our country. :(

Beyond comparison pero I can't help not to compare, ang 1 dollar dito makakabili ng 1 bag of apple, or 1 bag of carrots, or 1 loaf of sliced bread, or a carton of milk or juice, whereas sa Pilipinas ang piso candy lang ang mabibili.

Tayo mga pinoy kasi naniniwala namang pag mas maraming anak, mas maraming mag-aalaga sayo pagtanda --so sablay diba hehe

Hello Everyone! Nasa SG kami ng Husband ko and we are planning to submit our EOI by January.

    1. Ang NZ it's either residence visa or job search visa ang ibibigay sayo.

For an IT Professional ang cost ng assessment sa NZ is around 580 AUD.

    4. Walang interview with the case officer sa AU! Mas mabilis din ang approval ng Visa. Sa NZ ang timeline from the time na mag-submit ka ng EOI until ma-approve eh ang shortest is 1 year based sa mga nabasa ko. Eh mainipin pa naman ako.

    5. Walang bayad ang EOI sa AU.

Meron pang migrant levy.

    7. Mas malaki ang sweldo sa AU.

Haha! :D

@rara_avis - nice to see your inputs...

Earlier this year, me and my wife tried applying for NZ PR - nagbayad na kami ng EOI and we had our IELTS already as well. We were hopefully na mabigyan ng invitation, however they informed as that the work experience of my wife cannot claim for points hence we were placed on the waiting list. It went on for 2 months until the school of my wife was dislodged from the list of qualified schools... Ayun that was the nail in the coffin.

Short to say, last July our EOI in NZ has already expired. Buti nalang we got the chance to visit Australia for a quick vacation (sometime last June), we quickly fell in love with the place but we did not think of applying yet as we were still "traumatized" with our NZ experience.

Sa pagikot-ikot namin, we met 2 Filipinos who were based in Melbourne. They gave us the courage and inspiration to research and apply about getting a skilled migrant visa. Ayun, when we arrived back here in Singapore, I researched thoroughly about the whole process and became more active in this forum...

And the rest they say is history! :)

And yeah, I have repeated this again and again in previous post but I am proud to say that Singapore has rejected me and my wife's PR application TWICE...

THings happen for a reason; in our case, we were denied SG and NZ PR because probably AU is meant for us. As and when that is really the case, we shall see when we arrive next April. For now, I can only hope that sana ito na nga...

Pangatlong renewal ko na yun and I have been working in SG for almost 4 years na, same company.

@rara_avis - the timelines for me and my wife are normal ata IF you don't have any problems with medicals and you have provided all your documents.

However, we were given an invite kasi some weeks back wherein 2K per month and iniinvite nila to lodge an application. Sa Sept rounds naman, a total of 1K where invited. Ngayon for the whole of November, 3K and target nila na iinvite.

By December cguro, they will increase it again - what this mean is that, it may require DIAC some more time in order to process an application. With the numbers of CO constant and the number of applications increasing, normal lang na tataas ang turn-around time nila.

Hopefully though it should not be like before wherein it will take months...

    Goodluck to you!! :)

These are exactly my reasons why we chose AU over NZ. Tas we were surprised pa when we arrived here, we learned na yung Pinoy community na kilala namin dito sa Victoria, most of them PRs sa NZ pero nagmigrate pa din dito sa AU. Sabi nila kaya sila lumipat dito sa AU is because mas mataas ang sweldo and mababa cost of living dito compared to NZ. Plus mas mababait daw mga Australians sabi nila and mas accepted ang migrants dito. :)
Hello Everyone! Nasa SG kami ng Husband ko and we are planning to submit our EOI by January.

    1. Ang NZ it's either residence visa or job search visa ang ibibigay sayo.

For an IT Professional ang cost ng assessment sa NZ is around 580 AUD.

    4. Walang interview with the case officer sa AU! Mas mabilis din ang approval ng Visa. Sa NZ ang timeline from the time na mag-submit ka ng EOI until ma-approve eh ang shortest is 1 year based sa mga nabasa ko. Eh mainipin pa naman ako.

    5. Walang bayad ang EOI sa AU.

Meron pang migrant levy.

    7. Mas malaki ang sweldo sa AU.
